Since we left Nashville about an hour early, we were ahead of schedule and we decided to alter our course for Columbia.
We didn't have time to take the guided tour of the home but we were able to talk with a couple of the tour guides, buy a few souvenirs, and take some pictures of the exterior. I wish we were able to stay longer because Columbia looked like an interesting town and it would have been nice to see the interior of the Polk home.
During the trip we took last year we visited the homes of presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Now we can add James K. Polk to the list.
