JACKSON HOLE, WY

Swinging in Jackson, WY
We spent the day hanging out in Jackson. We walked around town in the morning then watched the 4th of July parade. In the afternoon, actors put on an old west style shootout in the town square. Shortly after sundown, we came out to watch the fireworks show.

Our rental car parked at our cabin in Jackson.

The Supreme Commander enjoys the swing outside our cabin

Twelve years ago, the Supreme Commander would have been content to spend the day here

Now the swing is a brief, nostalgic diversion

The streets in Jackson were blocked for the 4th of July parade

The mounted police control the traffic around the parade route

Walking the streets is much easier when there's no traffic

People gather ahead along the parade route

This road remained open

The corner entries to the town square have arches made of elk antlers

A watering hole across the street from the town square

It's almost time for the parade to begin

Male elk shed their antlers each year

The elk weren't killed to make these arches

The Supreme Commander ordered me to take this picture

It's odd seeing the streets with no traffic

The Supreme Commander prefers horses to squad cars

It's quiet around Jackson prior to the parade

Nobody is going to run this roadblock

The parade begins

The Supreme Commander at the parade as the ladder truck passes by

What?

"Can I just watch the parade, please?"

An old time fire truck rolls by

Keep it movin'!

That's a lot of balloons

The corner of Pearl & Jackson

The Supreme Commander found the swing again

It was nearly 10PM before it was dark enough to start the fireworks
